Chemical Relaxers VS Natural Hair
There is always the tendency to depend on chemical relaxers. Especially that cropped diva who swears by a nice taper and a clean edge. New growth and haircuts are enemies! Just to be clear, clients must always consider a fresh retouch when deciding on a new cut. Relaxers have become the necessary evil around Kansas City, but the natural girls are weighing in. Natural hair requires patience and dedication. Relaxed hair requires special conditioning and just as much patience. Whichever route you choose, know which products work best for you. You may be the curly girl who has relaxed hair on the ends or you may be the fed up relaxed client who is tired of the dryness caused by chemical services but wherever you fall on the natural meter Deva Curl is right for you! Relaxed clients who are transitioning to natural hair can enjoy the wonderful benefits of the complete Deva Curl line. Don't go hog crazy and cut off all yo hair down to the curly hair. Give Deva Curl a chance to wave up that previously relaxed hair. You will be so glad you did! On the other hand for you sleek divas out there, if parting with relaxers are hard to do, allow me to offer a few tips when silking that mane:
Try using two caps of argan oil in your relaxed mix. This will make for added protection to the hair shaft while processing.
Coat the hair ends with Restore by Design Essentials. This is a soft protein and will help keep the hair from overprocessing during the retouch service.
After a relaxer, dry the hair on a cool setting. This will help the hair maintain as much moisture as possible.
Base EVERY relaxer client. Even if the product reads, " no base."
Relax hair just enough to perform the desired look. Don't break that hair down 100% or you won't have any tensile strength the hair needs to form and hold a curl.
Again, whichever you choose, be sure your stylists equips you with the products you need to please your crown of glory!
