Ohio School Bans AfroPuffs and Braids
I never thought I would see the day that they would go this far. Ban the Afro Puff? Where's the Brat? She would not take too kind to this. They cant stop us from rocking rough and tough.
Horizon Science Academy of Lorraine, OH houses kindergarden through 10th graders. This school has certainly become the topic of many natural hair fans as their newly revised dresscode included the ban of afro puffs and braids without the use of rubberbands. This ban comes as direct contradiction against a previous rule that said, "hair should look natural." Only problem is, lots of us have puffy natural hair.
Through the power of social media, parents waged war against the Afro-puff and braid ban. Within one week of its release, letter that banned braids and Afro-puffs went viral and many concerned people contacted the school’s administration. The school has since issued an apology for “offending students” and “creating bias” toward one group of students and has promised a revision to the dress code.
